Help beside processor speed?

I am looking to buy a laptop for college (engineering student). I can buy one next to an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz or one with a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.40 GHz. The latter is obviously more expensive. Would it be worth the extra cost (several hundred dollars) to buy the 2.40 GHz. Would I notice a big difference for everyday computing use. Other than the processor the two are one and the same, both have 2 G of RAM.

Help beside processor speed?

Both are intensely fast CPUs & unless you are a hardcore gamer who wants/needs the biggest this & the fastest that so they expect they are going to have a bit of an supremacy when it comes to online gaming I would say rescue the several hundred dollars as you are going to need it for other academy stuff. The 2.16GHz dual core CPU is fine & will do everything you need it do & as prompt as you need it done, trust me on this one.
Go beside the 2.16 you won't notice the 300 mhz difference and you can use that save money for something else.
both are same in vocabulary of performance, but long possession reliability is better for core duo.
NOT worth the extra $$$ for the processor. it the 2nd one has a larger tough drive, it might be worth it.
