i have a dell c600 that broke, but the hard drive is still fine, so i want to use it within my new c610 but when i try to boot up it tell me there is a problem beside something about the configuration. i sort of figure this would happen, but i dont know what i can do to fix it as after i receive said error i cannot do anything but shut down. i can still access the boot and bios menus tho.
thankfulness for any help/info, but if you dont know, dont answer with one of those stupid ''i dont know''s

you have to reinstall the operating system
hold you reinstalled your operating system or you just plugged surrounded by your hard disk and start it? you see, when you install the operating system, it will also install the drivers needed by your system's hardwares. if those hardwares suddenly changed and you didn't reinstall the os, probability are, you will get your configurations pretty messed up.
