HD Light Blinks Now and after when files arnt within use?

Hey,



My Hard drive pale would randombly blink or stay on for long periods of time unevenly when files arnt even in use from the tricky drive, im quite computer illiterate, is this spyware get-together information or what?



I've got norton that come with the laptop (bought second month) and spyware s+d and ad-aware



Would could be causing this?

This is rather common and NOTHING to be alarmed just about.



A lot of programs stored on the hard drive do automatic updates from the trellis. (Norton, Windows Updates, Java, etc.)



Some programs periodically do auto backups to the easier said than done drive.



Programs can be scheduled to run within the background and must access the not easy drive - like some Windows keep programs for example (defrag and others from scheduled tasks)



I doubt if it is spyware congregation information, but update and scan your computer with your Norton Anti-virus program, consequently

update and scan with Spybot Search and Destroy, and finally

download, update and scan beside a program called Ad-aware. from Lavasoft.
