I dont know much roughly speaking lap tops but my parents want a unknown one and they said i could decide the specs for it, this will be the prime computer at our house and the budget was $1200. Im getting 2gb knock against and i have no view what video card i should get because i know nil about knees tops. Can anyone help me out here or post a intermingle to a good site appreciation.

most laptops have built surrounded by video cards you can order from the businessman, the best picture is on a sony but the rest of the laptop sucks try a toshiba or lenovo thinkpad for an alternate replacement. ati is the best vdeo card for laptops though
You can custom build a laptop on www.dell.ca or com, depending where you live. Just rotten the top i suggest getting Intel core 2 duo processor with 2Gb Memory 160 or 200 Gb Hard drive and at tiniest a nVidia Geforce Graphics card. If the laptop you choose is not there, browse around. You can customize any laptop. Make sure you own wireless, the software you want, printers, if you want a built-in webcam, mic. CD/DVD burner, you can even get the hot Blue Ray drives, but its about 700$. Other than that, its adjectives upto you. If you follow my guidelines, your laptop will last. Also file, Vista Premium is a must or XP if you still want.

I run an NVIDIA 7800 Go and I can play anything beside excellent framerates. You say the computer is for your parents. What do they use the computer for? Personally, I'd step with 1Gig Ram and spend the extra for a hot rod vid card if that's what they want.
The Dell 1520 beside a NV8600 GC would be your best choice.
