My laptop take forever to start up. I have Windows XP and I know how to whip programs off of the start up but I hold already removed all of the programs I am acquainted with. Does anyone know of a website that tell what programs I need to hold on the start up to run XP?? Thanks!

Eliminating start up programs on my laptop!!?

You did fine by limiting the programs that run on startup but that's just the first step. There are tons of services that run within the backgrounds short your knowledge. To find out which you can undamagingly disable, go here http://www.blackviper.com/winxp/service4...
from start menu run to run type msconfig enter then diable adjectives apply restart

when the comp restarts a popup will appear check the dont show box and be done with it.

if one of the progies is needed by window it will reenable itself.
There are several ways to do this. To find out what programs to keep, shift to http://www.sysinfo.org/ (it tells if you want to keep program).

1. Go to Start > Programs > Startup and remove any unwanted programs from at hand.

2. Install Windows Defender if you don't have it already. Use the Software Explorer function to remove programs you don't want. This is similar to msconfig.

3. Finally, if you don't similar to Defender, go to Start > Run and type surrounded by msconfig. Then go to the startup tab. Uncheck any programs you don't want. Unfortunatly, some programs will put themselves put a bet on in within. If you don't know what the entry is for, go to http://www.sysinfo.org/
