Getting Internet To Work On A Laptop?

Okay! I am getting SO frustrated! For a few months I own been trying to fix my laptop! It used to work, I have Dial-up and AOL. That was give or take a few a year ago. Now I have Bright House High speed broadband and no obligation for AOL. The computer I am using is having no issue at adjectives, I just plugged it up and it worked great(the desktop)

I plug the nouns wire up to the laptop and it say limited to no activity ?

Then I go to the restore wizard but it would only consent to me restore it to February 2007, I wanted to restore it to failure to pay. Then I went to control panel and swept bad everything, AOL, and everything I used to use because it was making it slow. Still the internet did not work! Then I used the reinstall disc which only seem to add the stuff I delete and didn't need.

How the heck do I completely restore my laptop?

It seem I have tried everything...Even the F8 item..

I have a Compaq Presario V2000 bought contained by 2005.

Please please! Anything, I am so desperate for help

Do you enjoy a recovery disk, try reformatting. Some of the registry programs may hold become corrupt. I bought the same V2000 no problems.
Try a different driver for you internal web interface card. Maybe that's your problem.
you might have set a custom IP for your computer, to fix this

1. Go to Control Panel

2. Choose Network Nonnections

3. Right-click 'Local Area Connection', later click properties.

4. At the general tab, rummage for 'Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)', then click properties.

5. set it to 'obtain an IP address antomatically

it should solve your problem.
