The trouble next to pc's with vista allready installed is that they are with the sole purpose built to take vista window xp might not run on it as vista comes with fingerprint tribute for the mouse pad taking vista stale and replacing with a different operating system will trade name all advanced features non existing and the laptop wants some of these features to work properley. Im affraid your stuck with a problemed laptop. Unless you whip the laptop back and ask for one next to xp on it.
leave vista on the concrete drive add another tough drive with xp on and net it a dual boot machine and when vista is finally given its update you will already enjoy it it is forced to be accepted sooner or later just close to xp and 98 they were griped give or take a few when they first came out
Frankly, if you don't know satisfactory about computers to find Vista working, you don't know enough almost computers to replace it.
It would be easier to get shut of Microsoft altogether.
