Exterior disc rom recorder (Freecom classic)?

I hold a Mac G3 powerbook OSX

With a Freecom Classic CD Ext Recorder/player

Using TOAST 6 Titanum.. it worked fine, other coming up on the Toast window UNTILL 5 minutes ago.. suddenly it cant find the recorder.. I've tried rebooting the mac, disconecting/reconecting the power from the freecom/ disconecting the firewire conections.. Still wont find the recorder.

Ps I dont enjoy the driver- disc from the Freecom as somebody gave it to me a year ago

Any bright Ideas ?
